Summary

Description
English: Remains of Turton and Edgworth Railway Station
The station on the Bolton to Blackburn line was opened in 1859 as Chapel Town Station. In 1877 the name was changed to Turton Station and then, in 1891, to Turton and Edgworth. The station was closed to passengers in 1961 and subsequently was demolished. All that now remains is part of the platform by the side of the track.
