Description
English: Map of railway stations busy on weekends in Switzerland through locations of geocoded photographs of railway stations. The highlighted station is Twann at Lake Biel. Numbers indicate the geocoded photos available for a location. The locations are selected from 2018 data about ca. 900 of the 1800 stations at Commons. For these, average traffic on weekdays (Monday to Friday) is lower than average non-work day traffic (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). Reported weekend passenger numbers range between ca. 102% of weekday numbers (examples: Lungern, Stalden-Saas, Mörel) and ≥200% (Spinas, Hospental, Langwies GR). Most stations are less busy on weekends (exemples: Zürich Hauptbahnhof 67%, Bern 65%, Basel 68%). Comparable data isn't available for all services or stations in Switzerland. The list of stations that should be visible on the map is provided below.
