English: This bubble diagram shows the percentage share of global cumulative energy-related carbon dioxide emissions between 1751 and 2012 across different regions (Hansen et al., 2013, p.17):

The contribution of emitters to global warming is closely proportional to cumulative emissions (Hansen et al., 2013, p.16). See also: greenhouse gas.

The area and colouring of the circles is proportional to the share of emissions. The radius of the circles equals the square root of (area / π;).
