DescriptionPeaceprints Prison Ministries - fmr Holy Apostles SS. Peter & Paul RC Church - Buffalo, New York - 20200526.jpg
English: Peaceprints Prison Ministries, 807 Clinton Street at Smith Street, Buffalo, New York, May 2020. A wood-framed church of modest dimensions with a simple Colonial Revival-style design by Schmill & Gould, it was erected in 1909 and reconstructed after a December 1921 fire caused severe damage. This was originally the home of Holy Apostles SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, a parish that initially served a Polish-American community that had gathered in the neighborhood, employed principally in the immense factories of the Larkin Soap Company just south of this site, in the area known as The Hydraulics, as well as in the stockyards north and east of here. At the time of the parish's dissolution in 2007 due to a merger with several neighboring ones, it was the only wooden building in the city to be used as a Catholic church. It's currently home to the offices of Peaceprints Prison Ministries.
