Summary

Description Paternal arms of Sir Edward Nicholas (1593-1669), Secretary of State to King Charles II: Argent, a fess wavy between three ravens sable (difference of Nicholas of Winterborne Earls, Wiltshire). In 1649 he was granted augmented arms: Argent, on a cross gules an imperial crown or, which he bore in the 1st & 4th quarters, with his paternal arms in 2&3.
