Description
Nederlands: Portret van Michiel Comans. Kalligraaf, etser, schilder en schoolmeester, met zijn derde vrouw Elisabeth van der Mersche, in zijn atelier. De schilder kijkt naar de beschouwer en staat met de rug naar het schilderij op een ezel. In de linkerhand palet en penselen, in de rechterhand een blad papier met een inscriptie. Zijn vrouw zit links bij het raam met een boek op schoot. Voor haar ligt een hond op de vloer. Rechts op de grond een album met prenten en tekeningen en enkele losse landkaarten en boeken. Tegen de achterwand hangen schilderijen. Boven het venster hangt een vogelkooi. Linksachter een kast waarop boeken en een globe staan en een prent met het Amsterdamse stadhuis.
