Locality: Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Western area, Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre) (Locality at mindat.org)
An absolutely exceptional specimen of these classic Metatorbernites in every way: superb GLASSY luster, very sharp bladed crystals, and an outstanding deep green color. You can see why they referred to these as "green wulfenites" when they came out! There are several levels of quality in the material dependent on the size of the crystals and more importantly on the lustre. This is TOP PERCENTILE and certainly dates to the older finds prior to the 1970s when such came out. With its aesthetics, it is a knockout thumb. BETTER IN PERSON - truly, the piece glows with lustre and color! 3.1 x 2.2 x 2 cm
