Summary[edit]

Screenshot from My Life as Mcdull Karaoke DVD. This image shows the first line of Mcdull's kindergarten school song. He is using Cantonese to phonetically transcribe a Mandarin song, so the Chinese characters have funny meaning. The lyric shown here is "We are happy good children. We sing together everyday. ..." :-)

Proportion: This is only one frame out of an hour long video, the usage proportion is about one out of over six million frames of the copyrighted work. No music from the music video was used, only one frame from screen capture.

Resolution: The video screen capture is much lower resolution than the original comic.

Purpose in the article: The screen shot depicts several characters from the McDull cartoon which is exactly the topic of the article. The music video screen shot illustrates one of the many media the characters appear in. This image is attached to the sentence mentioning the karaoke format.

Replaceability: Since McDull is a comic/cartoon, there is no free content image of the characters in the show.

Special consideration: This particular frame was chosen because of song lyrics displayed. The lyrics shows one of the McDull's signature Cantonese humor instrument of using cross-dialect homonyms that sounds one meaning but reads silly nonsense to non-Cantonese readers. This kind of humor is unique only to Cantonese audience.
