Description Photograph showing Royal Navy gunners loading a QF 6 inch naval gun on cruiser HMS Ariadne. A shell is on the loading tray ready to be rammed in; 2 men on the right hold cartridge cases; the man on the left holds the next shell. Photograph is believed to have been taken at Halifax, Nova Scotia while Ariadne was with the North America and West Indies squadron.
