DescriptionLewis R. Foster and Dorothy Wilson apply for a marriage license.jpg
English: Dorothy Wilson and fiance Lewis R. Foster stand smiling side by side as they are poised at the counter with their license and a pen. On February 29, 1936, the pair applied for a marriage license, but claimed that they had been engaged since last Christmas and that Miss Wilson had not proposed marriage the previous day, as is a common tradition for women to perform on the rare date.
