Knowsley Street railway station Original description: Bury Knowsley Street station site 1988 A platform edge from the station closed in 1970 can be seen on the right. The trackbed had been used until recently by British Rail coal trains to Ramsbottom with a diamond crossing where the Knowsley Street track met the new line to Bury Interchange. That point is marked where the two straight lines of bushes meet. The East Lancashire Railway preservation later relaid the track through Knowsley Street and on to Heywood. |
