English: Portrait of a German Princess, so-called portrait of Johanna Elisabeth of Baden-Durlach (1651–1680), wife of John Frederick, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach; formerly identified as "Dorothea Friederike"
Deutsch: Die Prinzessin Johanna Elisabeth von Baden-Durlach (1651-1680) wendet den Kopf dem Betrachter zu. In das lockige Haar ist eine Perlenkette geflochten. Über dem am Dekolleté bestickten Kleid liegt der hermelingefütterte Fürstenmantel. Auf dem Rahmen des Bildes befindet sich in Bleistift die falsche Beschriftung "Dorothea Friederike". In einem Verzeichnis aus dem ersten Drittel des 19. Jhs. ist die Dargestellte als "E.M. z.B. Anspach, M. z.B. Durlach" aufgeführt, was sich in Elisabeth Markgräfin zu Brandenburg-Ansbach, Markgräfin zu Baden-Durlach auflösen lässt. Es handelt sich somit um die Urgroßmutter der Markgräfin Caroline Luise. Sie war eine Schwester von Friedrich VII. Magnus von Baden-Durlach (1647-1709) und mit dem Markgrafen Johann Friedrich von Brandenburg-Ansbach verheiratet. Das Gemälde stammt aus dem ehemaligen Familienzimmer des Karlsruher Schlosses in dem Markgräfin Caroline Luise von Baden-Durlach (1723-1783) eine Porträtgalerie der Häuser Baden-Durlach und Hessen-Darmstadt eingerichtet hatte.
