Description

A U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet (BuNo 164640) of Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-113 Stingers, piloted by Lt. William Ipock, waits in line with two French Mirage 2000's to conduct air-to-air refueling with a French Boeing KC-135F tanker aircraft during "Operation Southern Watch" on 23 April 1994.

The F-18 wears the markings of the Air Wing Commander (CAG) of Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14), which was deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 17 February to 17 August 1994.
