Description

A U.S. Naval Air Reserve Douglas KA-3B Skywarrior (BuNo 138929) of Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron VAQ-308 Griffins refueling a Ling-Temco-Vought A-7A-4b-CV Corsair II from Attack Squadron VA-303 Golden Hawks. Both aircraft were assigned to Reserve Carrier Air Wing 30 (CVWR-30), the A-7 being the aircraft of the Air Group Comander (CAG).

The KA-3B 138929 later crashed at Naval Air Station Patuxent River on 27 January 1979, two of the crew being killed. The A-7A 153200 was retired to the MASDC as 6A0088 on 18 November 1977. It was then converted to an A-7P and sold to Portugal (s/n FAP 5502).
