Countries with more than 5% Muslim population. Source for distribution is the CIA World Factbook, Shiite/Sunnite distribution collected from other sources. Shiites may be underrepresented in some countries where they do not appear in official statistics.

Länder mit >= 5% muslimischem Bevölkerungsanteil. Die zugrundeliegenden Werte sind fast alle dem World Factbook der CIA entnommen. In manchen Fällen jedoch nach eigenem Wissenstand interpretiert. Beispiel: Azerbaijan: «Muslim 93.4%» habe ich komplett als Schiiten gerechnet. Sonst sind Schiiten eher unterrepräsentiert, weil sie oft in offiziellen Statistiken nicht auftauchen (z.B. Türkei oder Saudi-Arabien). Dasselbe gilt für Gruppen wie die Ahmadiyya in Pakistan.
