Summary

Description
English: The German weekly magazine Illustrirte Zeitung had an article about the new German corvette Luise in its June 7, 1873 issue, page 430. It was accompanied by this drawing by H. Penner on page 428. The article lauded the Imperial shipyard at Danzig for its fast production time of one and a half year, but the Luise was in fact not ready in June 1873 and only joined the German Navy in June 1874, so the drawing of the vessel in storm must be based on the sister ship Ariadne.
