The Green Hope Falcon was created by sculptor Dick Idol. Mr. Idol, who is a former NC State football player, also created the "Wolfpack Turf" monument, in front of the Murphy Center at Carter-Finley Stadium. Mr.Idol is a member of Outdoor Wildlife Hall of Fame. Mr. Idol maintains the Dick Idol gallery in Whitefish, Montana www.dickidolgallery.com. The courtyard which houses the Falcon was designed by 2002 Green Hope graduate, ( NC State School of Design Grad) Jacqueline Merlano Johnson. The courtyard was designed to host class and school club meetings. Every member of the class of 2002 Green Hope H.S. has a individual stone ,with their name ,in the courtyard. Funding was provided by class seniors,family and friends, corporate sponsors and The Cary Arts Association.
