Description
English: Dr. Günther Altenburg (1894-1984) at the Nuremberg Trials. Altenburg was a German career diplomat, who was special envoy in Greece (Bevollmächtigter des Reiches für Griechenland) from 1941-43 during the Second World War. This photograph of Altenburg as an interned witness was taken by US Army photographers on behalf of the Office of Chief of Counsel for War Crimes (OCCWC) during Nuremberg Trial VII (Hostages Trial / Generäle in Südosteuropa).
