Object history "Las dos pinturas depositadas en el Museo Goya proceden de la familia Híjar, una de las ocho grandes casas nobles del Reino de Aragón. Fueron encargadas para formar parte de la galería de retratos de la residencia madrileña de los marqueses de Ariza, padres de los retratados. Han pertenecido a los sucesivos duques de Híjar hasta que en 1930 por herencia pasaron a propiedad de los duques de Almazán, siendo incautadas por el gobierno republicano durante la Guerra Civil y recuperadas por sus propietarios tras la contienda. Desde 2008 forman parte de una colección particular y se exponen ahora por primera vez al público tras su cesión con carácter de depósito al Museo Goya." [2]
