Description
English: Portrait of Eugenia Jones Bacon printed in October 29, 1899 issue of the Atlanta Constitution newspaper. The caption reads "Author of 'Lyddy,' One of the Best Stories of Ante-Bellum Days and Owner of the Famous Stone Containing the Likeness of Christ, Picked Up at Oberammergau." Bacon was the author of "Lyddy: A Tale of the Old South," a novel that romanticizes slavery in the Southern United States before the American Civil War.
