Summary

Description
English: A dummy gun made up with a long pole set up on a pair of cart wheels. From the air, this would have appeared to be a real gun and time and ammunition would have been wasted in the attempt to destroy it. As this is identified in the caption as a German installation, it was clearly found when this area was captured by the Allies.

As air reconnaissance became increasingly important, various methods of deceiving the enemy were tried by both sides, including both mock weapons and the use of camouflage.
