Op de voorgrond liggen drie krijgslieden te slapen. Rechts iets meer naar achteren een staande, omhoog ziende boogschutter, achter wie nog twee figuren. Links op het tweede plan opent een engel het rotsgraf, waaruit Christus, midden boven, omhoog stijgt. De rotsformatie laat in het midden een vergezicht op een stad vrij, waarvóór drie naderende vrouwen.
