Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen ist seit 1907 amtlich gebilligt und wurde 1920 offiziell verliehen. Es entspricht älteren Gerichtssiegeln, deren ältestes nach der Stadtrechtsverleihung von 1352 datiert. Als seinerzeitige zeitweilige Ortsherren werden Mainz mit dem Mainzer Rad und Erzbischof Gerlach als Graf aus dem Haus Nassau mit dem Löwen repräsentiert.
