Description
English: Fragment of Cronica Regenerărei, a current affairs and satirical column from Mișcarea, the (Iași-based) Romanian National Liberal daily, mocking the Progressive Conservative, pro-German cabinet of Alexandru Marghiloman. The missing top part reflects military censorship; the middle part is about a controversy surrounding terrorism suspect and fugitive Ilie Cătărău, whom Marghiloman viewed as an agent of the National Liberals, while Mișcarea pins him to Germany and Soviet Russia ("his work [is] carried out under the authority of Mr Hellferich and Rakovski"). Third part complains about an earlier article, detailing alleged fraud by government official Grigore Carp, being censored, despite its subject not being covered by the censorship laws.

Public domain According to the Romanian Law on Copyright and Neighboring Rights Law no. 8/1996 of March 14, 1996 with further amendments Chapter 3 Article 9 the following documents shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright:

  • The photographs of letters, deeds, documents of any kind, technical drawings and other similar papers shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.
