Summary

Description
English: Cor de negri ("Black Men Choir"), press cartoon, illustrating a humorous quatrain. The reference is to the "United Opposition" riots of 1888, when various political pressure groups united against the governing, "collectivist", wing of the National Liberal Party. The mustachioed silhouette in the window is Conservative Party leader Lascăr Catargiu. The smaller figures "serenading" him (i. e. attempting to obtain his endorsement for their cause) are variously identified as D. Arghiropol, Nicolae Fleva, George D. Pallade, Tache Protopopescu and Valerian Ursian.
