Description
English: Cherokee Village Apartments built in the 1950s in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The entire neighborhood is in the Chestnut Hill Historic District on the NRHP. Designed by architect Oskar Stonorov (1905 - 1970) who came to Philly from Germany in 1929. He is known for the Carl Mackley Houses (1933-34) on the NRHP, with Alfred Kastner and Pennypack Woods (1941-43), designed with Louis Kahn and George Howe, as well as the country house for his own use in Chester County. Entire neighborhood is in the Chestnut Hill Historic District on the NRHP.
