Summary

Description
English: Carlbury Hill, Carlbury, County Durham, from south bank of River Tees. Carlbury Hall can be seen on the hill. In 1642 an English Civil War battle was won by the Royalists because they used this hill as a battery emplacement, which gave them the advantage over the Parliamentarians attempting to cross the river.
