English: Bertha of Savoy ,daughter of Adelaide di Susa, queen of German, dressed in penance clothing barefoot,was involved in the penance in castle of Canossa after which his husband made a journey to canossa and did penance to make peace with Pope. The baby in her arm was the later Conrad II of Italy.
