Vapp oli kasutusel 9. maist 1994 kuni oktoobrini 2005.

Põhjendus
Punane, kuld ja hõbe on apostel Siimeoni (Simuna) vapivärvid. Laineline vai tähistab Pedja jõge, hõbedane rist punasel märgib nii Avanduse paiknemist omaaegse Taani haldusala idapiiril kui ka kuulsat Taani-Saksa ristimistüli.

«Золотой щит с красным волнистым столбом, обремененным серебряным латинским крестом.»[2]
