A Francisco Valles dignísimo Protomédico de Felipe II,
Rey Católico de las Españas y de las Indias,
filósofo de la Academia Complutense.
Gran Padre y Maestro de virtudes en España,
varón esclarecido y bondadosísimo.
El primero en Ciencias Físicas, no aventajado por nadie en virtud,
médico acertadísimo y sin igual,
y sin embargo este gran Valles, tan grande en el mundo,
encerrado está en este pequeño túmulo.
Mas su alma subió a habitar las mansiones eternas

y allí está gozando porque vivió bien”.
