English: Chrismarium (container for Chrism). The vessel is named "Alabaster" (Алавастр) in reference to Matthew 26:7 (Patriarchal Residence, Moscow Kremlin).

Стамбул, конец XVI-начало XVII вв. Медь, серебро, золото, перламутр, камни драгоценные, бирюза, жемчуг, дерево. Литье, инкрустация, золочение. Высота 38 см., высота с крестом 50 см. Алавастр со съёмной крышкой, медный, кованый, инкрустирован перламутром; основание и крышка украшены драгоценными камнями. Алавастр в форме сулеи с узким высоким горлом и сильно расширяющимся круглым корпусом. Горло и корпус сплошь покрыты перламутровой (на верхней части корпуса фигурной) чешуёй, наклеенной на мастику. Основание медное, золочёное, кольцеобразное, профилировано боровками, со слегка выступающим лентообразным краем; украшено рядом бирюзы в высоких кастах. Дно деревянное с геометрическим резным орнаментом. Крышка серебряная золочёная, литая, круглая, съёмная, двухъярусная, профилирована уступами; по нижнему ярусу украшена рядом бирюзы в высоких кастах. В верхней части крышки неподвижно закреплён четырёхконечный, серебряный золочёный фигурный крест, украшенный драгоценными камнями старогреческой огранки. С одной стороны он украшен изумрудами, с другой рубинами и изумрудами; на концах – жемчужинами, закрепленными на шпеньке. |
