English: Obverse: 藏 (Tsang) 1570

Reverse: 寶(Bao)

"Bao Zang" means "treasure, treasury, precious deposits"

Octagonal, diam.-23mm., Wt.-11.5 gms.

This is an Assamese-Tibetan Trade Coin minted by Ahom king Jayadhvaja Simha (1570 or 1648). This coin did not come into large circulation because of Tibetans signed a treaty with Nepal in 1650 for trade only through Nepal.
