Description

A U.S. Marine Corps Douglas A-4E Skyhawk (BuNo 1500629) of Marine Attack Squadron 224 (VMA-224) "Bengals" taking off on a combat mission from Chu Lai, Vietnam, on 24 September 1966.

The A-4E 150062 was later shot down by small arms fire over South Vietnam on 7 June 1970 while in service with VMA-311. The pilot ejected and was rescued.
