Miguel Ángel Flores Curtidor, professionally known as Danny Wolf, is a multi-platinum Mexican record producer, composer, songwriter, and entrepreneur based in Atlanta, Georgia.[1][2]

Danny Wolf has worked on songs such as “Sometimes” by Juice WRLD, “Water” by Ugly God, “Flex Like Ouu” by Lil Pump, "I" by Lil Skies, "We Dont Luv Em" by Hoodrich Pablo Juan, "Slidin" with Lil Baby, and “Moon Relate” by Lil Uzi Vert. His collaborations also include artists such as Young Thug, Future, Migos, Anitta, A$AP Ferg, Partynextdoor, Justin Bieber, and hundreds more.[3][4]

Early life[edit]

Danny was born in Mexico City, Mexico, and immigrated to the US with his family at the age of 5. He began his music production journey at age 16 on a school laptop, teaching himself composition through Fruity Loops, Ableton, and a 16-key MIDI keyboard.[5] During this time, Danny's mother was deported and banned from the US for 10 years. He remained in the United States under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.[6][7]

Despite the challenges he faced, Danny remained determined to pursue his passion for music. He taught himself music theory, studied numerous symphonies online, and practiced piano scales every day and night, all on his own.[8]

Career[edit]

Danny began his music career at age 17 as an intern at Hoodrich Entertainment, a record label in Atlanta. Juggling two jobs at Cold Stone and Wendy’s to support himself, he eventually quit both to focus on music production and talent scouting[9]. During his internship, he undertook various tasks, from shooting and editing videos for rappers like Young Thug and Migos to updating the company’s blog.[10] In his spare time, he honed his production style and sound, crafting beats while sleeping in a friend’s closet.[11] One of these beats eventually became his first platinum hit, "Water" by Ugly God, in 2016.

Danny's distinctive sound led to him securing a production gig with Hoodrich, where he became a trusted architect for the unique styles of Atlanta artists, including Hoodrich Pablo Juan, iLoveMakonnen, Ugly God, and Lil Yachty.

In 2015, Danny Wolf produced “Trust Me Danny" by Atlanta-based rapper ILoveMakonnen, which was as an homage to the producer.[12][13] His production featured prominently on Hoodrich Pablo Juan's mixtapes, including Designer Drugz (2015), Designer Drugz 2 (2016), and Designer Drugz 3 (2017).[14][15] This collaboration led to the release of their joint mixtape titled Hood Wolf in 2017 and Hood Wolf 2 in 2018.[16][17][18] Additionally, they released the single "Get In My Bag" in 2020.[19]

In 2017, Danny collaborated with Lil Yachty and Pollari on their single "Diamonds." The following year, he produced and released "Take Down" with HoodRich Pablo Juan, "Balance" with Warhol.SS, and teamed up with 6 dogs for their joint EP titled 6 Wolves.[20]

Danny released his debut album, Dark Nights in Paradise, on his record label, Chaos Club, in a joint venture in 2021.[21] The album features rappers Lil Baby, Lil Pump, Lil Tecca, Key Glock, Lil Skies, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Ski Mask The Slumpgod, and more.[22] That same year, he collaborated with Lil Baby on the track "Slidin."[23]

Danny joined the independent record and publishing group APG at the age of 23.[24][25]

Collaborations with Juice WRLD[edit]

Danny Wolf collaborated with Juice WRLD on over 300 songs, which he was unaware of until after Juice WRLD's passing in 2019. Danny and Juice WRLD first connected via Instagram the year prior. Following the release of Juice WRLD's hit single "Lucid Dreams," their collaboration began. Danny sent newly produced beats daily, resulting in a collection of 900 tracks.[26]

After Juice WRLD's passing, his unreleased music began leaking online, including tracks produced by Danny. Danny discovered these leaks from Juice WRLD's fans on social media and, after discussions with Juice WRLD's label, learned that Juice WRLD had recorded over hundreds of his beats at the peak of his career. In 2021, Grade A Productions and Interscope Records released Juice WRLD's fourth studio album, Fighting Demons, which included the tracks "Sometimes" and "Feel Alone," both produced by Danny Wolf.[27][28]

Danny Wolf is known for his signature tag, “Danny I See You,” and for incorporating elements of his Mexican heritage into his productions. His music is influenced by a variety of genres, including Latin music and Southern trap.[29][30]
