Placing interlanguage links

Interlanguage links are links from a page in one Wikipedia language to an equivalent page in another language. These links can appear in two places:

  1. In the "Languages" list – a sidebar that appears on the left side (default position) of the current page. These links should go last of all.
  2. Inline, in the text of a page.

Both of these two types of links are created and handled differently.

CVU Training[edit]

Hi Cassiopeia! I'm Lordseriouspig. I'd love to do the CVU training, to learn more about detecting and responding to vandalism. I've already been doing a bit, but I'd love to get some training. 🙂 Thanks, Lordseriouspig 08:48, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

{[U|Lordseriouspig}} Good day and thank you for interested in CVUA program. Pls note that the minimum total main space for an editor to join the program is 200. You current total main space edits is 65 - see HERE. I suggest you to complete WP:TWA short program first since you are new to Wikipedia so you would familiar yourself with some fundamental Wikipedia guidelines which will serve you well when you join the CVUA program. Pls note that the CUVA program do require you to read some material/guidelines and working on the some assignment. Most participants completed the program within 3 months but there is no time frame to complete the program since everyone works on the program on their own pace. If you have complete the TWA and have reach the main space edits as mentioned above then please pop back here and let me know so I would set up the program for you. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 09:21, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, sorry, but can you double check? It shows as 201 edits for me. I have done TWA as well :) Thanks, Lordseriouspig (logged out edit) 11:03, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
{[U|Lordseriouspig}} Thank you for taking TWA program. If you look closely, your total edits across all name space is 201 but your "main space" edit is 65. Pop back here when you total main space edits is 200 or more. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 02:20, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. No dramas, I'll come back then 🙂 Thanks, Lordseriouspig 07:04, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

CVUA[edit]

I think I may be ready for the next assignment, but please note I am busy (and slightly stressed) so I may come to it when I have time (even if I'm doing something else on Wikipedia) — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 22:51, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

TheTechie Posted assignment 2 on the program page. Note: Pls post all communication regarding the program on the "communication section" at the bottom of each assignment including letting me know you have finished with the assignment, questions if any, want to move on to next assignment, and etc. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 23:16, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, will try to do that in the future. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 23:58, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Switzerland101 (17:26, 30 May 2024)[edit]

I have a question. How do you add a bio page? --Switzerland101 (talk) 17:26, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) Switzerland101, if you mean your user page, click here to create it. Do note that we have user page guidelines, so please be sure to read those before creating one. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 22:48, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from CoffmanFrank (21:18, 1 June 2024)[edit]

I'm interested in placing and developing a page about myself and my own work in writing (poetry and fiction) and in publishing and editing. --CoffmanFrank (talk) 21:18, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) CoffmanFrank, You cannot write about yourself in an article space, you would have a conflict of interest then. If you are notable, someone else will make one for you. Do not start a such page about yourself. However, if you would like to host limited info about yourself, you may create your userpage by clicking here. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 21:24, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from April Glaser-Hinder on User:April Glaser-Hinder/Sample page (03:00, 4 June 2024)[edit]

Hi Cassiopeia

I'm trying to help 96 year old April Glaser-Hinder, an internationally recognised artist, winner of first prize in the 13th Biennale Internazionale Dantesca in Ravenna in 1998, whose works are now owned by a number of Australian art galleries, including the National Gallery of Victoria (https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/explore/collection/artist/35764/). . She is the niece of Australian artists Frank Hinder (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Hinder) and Margel Hinder (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margel_Hinder).

It seems I started on the wrong foot with Wikipedia last night while helping April create an email address and then trying to create a Wikipedia account with her. April was unaware of Wikipedia. She has no internet at home and spends her time organising records of her extensive body of work in self-published books, papers, photos and CDs. She's not selling her artwork, which is all now owned by others.

It was therefore my idea, not hers, that she should create her own Wikipedia entry, so it's accurate and complete before she dies and so much knowledge is lost with her. But now reading Wikipedia COI guidelines it seems that will be problematic and maybe I should create the entry under an account I create for me, although it would still be based on the material she makes available to me. The problem now is that my account would be using the same IP address as April.

Any advice you can provide to guide April and I would be appreciated. I've used Wikipedia since its inception but its editing policies are totally new to both of us.

Regards Vicki Tac --April Glaser-Hinder (talk) 03:00, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April Glaser-Hinder Good day and thank you for the question. May I know what is your relation with April? Cassiopeia talk 03:05, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I became April's friend two years ago when I moved nearby. Her immediate family are all dead, including her first and second husbands. She has no children, but she has a good relationship with the family of her deceased sister's deceased husband. I have their agreement to try to create a Wikipedia entry for her. April Glaser-Hinder (talk) 06:09, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will try to create an account under my name, with my email address, so it's clear who's editing. But will I be blocked now that my IP address is also being used by April? April Glaser-Hinder (talk) 06:32, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
